Kinder Graduation

Today was Kinder awards, and Delaney graduated to first grade. She received "stars" for Notable Progress in Reading, Writing, and Math, and she reached her AR goal. In spite of her inability to refrain from talking, she is a very smart girl and loves school.

Dancin' Queen

Sort of bittersweet, but Delaney just danced in her last recital. She has decided to play soccer instead. We may be back to dancing if the soccer doesn't work out. Tonight she danced to Boogie Fever and The Twist. Way to go sweet girl!!

Happy Mom's Day!

This was my best Mother's Day ever!!
I awoke to the chair scooting across the tile kitchen floor...Delaney was making breakfast! It was a frozen waffle, but that was the best waffle I have ever had! Then they presented my gift, this Jim Shore Mickey Mouse figurine. I have had my eye on some of his pieces for quite some time now. Those who know me well will remember my Mickey Mouse obsession that began when I was little bitty. Well I still love Mickey, but have kept things to a minimum, but this one is going on the mantle!

Delaney also made Jana buy me some lotion back in March for "Mom's Day." Hey, she was just thinking ahead. That's my girl!

I hope everyone else had a great day too!

This Is For the Birds!

I think the kids wish I hadn't replaced my lost camera. First I made them stand in the field of yellow flowers for pictures. (Ok, they are probably really weeds, but don't tell Delaney.) Then we went to Red Robin for lunch and "Red" was there. So I ran to the car to grab the camera again. Although, I will brag how my kids have never been afraid of any characters like this, Santa included! Braxton's not scared, just annoyed and hungry!Good thing to keep the camera around. You never know who you might run into.
